Neuton mower

Last week I finally had a chance to try out our new Neuton Lawnmower. It performed better than I had expected. Of course, my standards for a lawn are much lower than most. So long as it was able to cut our tall thick Houston grasses then I was satisfied. It is a longer and narrower machine than my standard gas push mower so the turning radius was wide. The wheels are small and made entirely of plastic so pivoting the mower was more challenging. It is lighter than the gas mower so it was odd going over certain areas and severe inclines were downright dangerous. To its credit it cut through grasses that usually choke up my gas mower. It was less noisy, too. Sounds like an old box fan. The batteries performed much longer than I had anticipated. I have a 1/2 acre and cutting grass is usually a long ordeal. When I use the gas mower I easily go through 2 tanks of gas, with the Neuton I almost completed the whole backyard on one battery. The whole yard would probably take both batteries with a little charge left over.
Another thing that was unexpected and made my life easier was that there is no pull cord. I have at least 20 fruit trees in my back yard and going around them usually ends with me being attacked by the jujubes and citrus because the pull cord got caught in a limb and pulled me back into the tree or the limb gets whipped accross my arm. This small detail may be the reason that I was able to cut the backyard in record time. Overall, I was very pleased with the machine. So much so, that I will probably make my friends try it out when they come over.
